How it works

Enter your business and your client, add each line with a quantity and rate, set tax or discount if they apply, and press Download PDF. Totals update as you type. The invoice number increases automatically the next time you start a new one, and your last draft is restored when you come back.

What a proper invoice needs

Most late payments start with a missing detail. Every invoice this tool produces carries the items that accounts-payable teams check first:

  • A unique, sequential invoice number
  • Issue date and a clear due date
  • Your legal name and contact details, and the client's
  • One line per deliverable with quantity, rate and amount
  • Subtotal, tax, discount and the balance actually due
  • Payment terms and how to pay

Why the PDF is generated on your device

Invoices contain client names, addresses, bank details and prices. This page never sends any of that to a server: the PDF is assembled by JavaScript running in your browser, and you can confirm it in the network tab. There is no login because there is nothing to store on our side.

The trade-off: drafts live only in this browser. If you clear site data or switch devices, they are gone, so download the PDF when you finish.

Tax and discount, in the order accountants expect

The discount is applied to the subtotal first, then tax is calculated on the discounted amount. That is the standard order for sales tax, VAT and GST. If your jurisdiction taxes before discount, enter the tax-inclusive price on the line instead and leave the tax field at zero.

Frequently asked questions

Is the invoice generator really free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no limit on the number of invoices. Use it for commercial work.
Where are my invoices stored?
Only in your browser's local storage on this device, and only the current draft. Download the PDF to keep a copy.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Upload a PNG or JPG in the From section. It is embedded in the PDF and never uploaded anywhere.
Why did the print dialog open instead of a download?
The built-in PDF font covers Latin characters only. When the invoice contains Korean, Japanese, Chinese or other scripts, the tool switches to the browser's print engine, which supports every language. Choose Save as PDF in that dialog.
Does it support my currency?
USD, EUR, GBP, KRW, JPY, CAD, AUD, INR, SGD, CNY, CHF, MXN and BRL, formatted with the correct symbol and decimals.
Is this a tax invoice?
It is a standard commercial invoice with a tax line. Whether it qualifies as a VAT or tax invoice depends on your country's rules, for example a registered tax number may be required. Add that to the address block if you need it.
